The University of Pennsylvania, the University of Maryland at College Park, and Swarthmore College are co-sponsoring an invitation-only summit that will be held on Penn’s campus September 20-21, 2018.

Changing the National Conversation: Inclusion and Equity will bring together presidents and provosts from across the nation to discuss strategies for fostering and sustaining inclusive excellence.  The focus of the summit will be the recruitment, retention and promotion of historically underrepresented faculty and creating campus climates in which they, and indeed all faculty, thrive.  Participants will have an opportunity to engage in frank conversations, exchange information about successful initiatives, and seek advice from their peers as we consider innovative paths forward.

By car, Philadelphia is just two hours from New York City, 90 minutes from Baltimore, three hours from Washington D.C., and about an hour from Lancaster County, Atlantic City and the New Jersey shore via major highways. Philadelphia is served by the PA Turnpike (I-276), I-76, I-476, I-95, US-1 and the New Jersey Turnpike.
